Each month, Lewis Central High School recognizes staff who demonstrate excellence as they perform their work at our school. Persons receiving this award have been nominated by their peers.
Mr. Duitsman, who has been at LCHS for six years, teaches English and is National Honor Society sponsor. His nominator says, " Ted is a great sponsor for the National Honor Society because he is fair with kids. As a staff member, he is a great problem solver and works hard to collaborate with others to help kids. As NHS sponsor, he helps to organize the blood drive which is a great community service. He is a leader in the classroom and popular with students. He balances a family life with young children while still being a quality teacher. " Another nominator says, "Ted is currently a mentor for a new teacher. However, as an 'experienced teacher new to LC', I have also approached him numerous times for assistance. He is very positive, gracious and patient. He has been an enormous help to me. Ted serves on a number of building committees and is also part of the grading pilot. Ted connects with students at various levels. he greets them in the pad area, works individually with them during his plan time, and attends school functions. He was even part of a dancing group during the evening of Homecoming Coronation. Ted is a positive leader in our school and district."
Donna Elliff is secretary to the principal at Lewis Central High. Her nominator says, "Donna is always available to help. She goes above and beyond to make sure staff and students needs are taken care of. She works tirelessly to provide a warm and hospitable atmosphere for staff members. If I am in a bind, I know she will help me. She's positive, upbeat and genuinely interested in our lives. When I talk to Donna, I know she cares about what I am saying. She is an excellent model for the definition of customer service." Another nominator says, "She is always available to answer questions and help me find things."
