Welcome to the Lewis Central High School Library
Lewis Central Schools Library Mission Statement
In cooperation with staff and administration, the goal of the library program is to create students who are self-directed life-long learners. We will assist them as they become aware, practice, and master information-seeking and processing skills. The teacher librarian serves as the bridge between technology and information.

Once again the state of Iowa is providing free access to various online databases for all students. Some changes have been made. Some services have been dropped and others added in their places. New this year is Britannica Digital Learning (contains all topics in the encyclopedia plus current events), Culture Grams (information about countries and states), Gale (magazines, books, web sites, etc. about all topics), Soundzabound (downloadable sounds and songs), and Teen Health and Wellness. They continue to offer AccuWeather, AP Images (downloadable images), Atomic Learning (tutorials for many computer applications), iClipart (free clipart), and Social Issues Researcher. These databases are excellent resources for research and the creation of digital projects.
To use these databases, see Mrs. Argotsinger or Mrs. Thornton for the user name and password.
