Money TreeSeniors and Parents,

This is a reminder about the All Iowa Opportunity Grant.  The deadline to apply for this is March 1.  It requires completion of the FAFSA and the Iowa Financial Aid Application.

The 2017-18 Expected Family Contribution (EFC) cutoff for eligibility was $8,766.  After completing the FAFSA, there is a link on the confirmation page “Start Your State Application”.  The FAFSA then feeds information into the Iowa Financial Aid Application so it takes 5-10 minutes to complete.  If the FAFSA has already been completed, then a student can go to and click on the Iowa Financial Aid Application on the right side of the page.  This grant only applies if you are going to an Iowa college.

Any student who has an EFC of less than 8766 should complete the Iowa Financial Aid Application by March 1.  You can find your EFC on your FAFSA account.

Last year's maximum grant award was $4,383.  Remember, grants do not have to be paid back.

If you have any concerns, see Mrs Bode-Steinke, but be sure you have your FAFSA ID and password when you do.
