Jess Bond - Teacher of the Month November

Passion is something this teacher is known for by all who work with him or have had him as a teacher or a coach.  It is this same passion that helps him to not only be successful in the work he does as a physical education teacher, basketball coach, and football coach; he is a True Titan who knows that being a member of a supportive community is what our students need to be successful.  Hence, he is always one of the first teachers to sign up to be a PBIS Tier II mentor, work with challenging students, and have  "parenting like" conversations with students who might be struggling.

Just the other day I noticed Mr. Bond sitting in the hallway with a student who does not let anyone in because of the abuse and neglect she has experienced in her life, both physically and emotionally.  Instead, she often escapes into her drawings.  It was evident that Mr. Bond knows how important her drawings are to her as he took the time to sit in the hall and listen as she showed him her work and told him about it.  This was one of the few times I have ever seen this student smile and open up to others.  Without a doubt, Mr. Bond did this through his sincere caring for the students at LCHS.

Amie Adkins-Stouder - Support Staff Member of the Month November

Amie is a 1995 Lewis Central graduate.  She served on the school board from 2005-2012 and again starting in 2015 to the present, and she is an avid supporter of our fine arts programs.  Our students are accustomed to seeing Amie at our vocal music events, show choir competitions, and putting in countless hours working on drama and musical productions.

Even though Amie is not in a paid position for drama (due to conflicts resulting from being a school board member), we have no doubt that The Boys Next Door production would not have happened were it not for the time Amie invested in a "show must go on" ethic in the absence of Mr. McLaughlin.  Her dedication to the students of LCHS, her volunteer work with vocal music, and serving on the school board have all had a tremendous impact on our school community.  For all these reasons and more, we recognize her support for LCHS as our Support Staff Member of the Month for November.
