REbel factsThe vision….
Created by Dr. Laura Eickman, REbeL is a student driven education and prevention program designed to address eating and body image concerns. Low self- esteem, skewed body image, disordered eating and bullying are overwhelmingly present and contaminating today’s society. REbeL envisions a world in which individuals are valued for who they are rather than how they look.

What we do….
REbeL members will be educated on such topics as the prevalence of eating and body image issues, the ineffectiveness of diets, the impact of negative self-talk and media literacy. Students will dialogue about these issues, strive to improve their own self-esteem and confidence, learn how to help a friend who may have unhealthy eating issues, develop leadership and critical thinking skills regarding cultural and media messages, how to fight prejudice based on body size and shape, develop the practice of mindful eating and exercise and eventually becomes agents of positive change in our school and community.
