Internship Program Opportunities

"The Internship program at Lewis Central High School has been happening for several years, although this year it is being taken over by Business Teacher Cheryl Casey, as Kathie Lincoln has retired.  The purpose of the Internship program is to allow students an opportunity to gain on-the-job experience in a specific career area of their choice.  The Internship student will be exposed to all areas of the specific industry, as well as general work place skills.
Students earn two credit hours for taking the Internship class.  The class meets on Monday, typically during 5th & 6th period.  During this time, students share about their challenges and opportunities on the job, and also learn about various career-related topics.  On Tuesday through Friday, the students spend two hours at a business or organization in the community learning about their career of interest.  Internships often allow students to obtain experiences they wouldn't be able to get in regular part-time, after school jobs.
If a student is interested in the Internship program, they should contact the Guidance office and work with a counselor to enroll in the class.  Students shouldn't miss out on this valuable high school experience!"
