LCHS Remote Learners and Parents,

As you know from our weekly communications our in-person learners are currently taking the Iowa State Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) and we are planning on all LCHS remote learners in grades 9th through 11th to test in person on Monday, April 5, and Tuesday, April 6.  Students need to be at school at 7:30 a.m. and report to the library.  This will not be the testing location, but rather where we will take attendance and from there students will be assigned testing locations.

ISASP assessments are completed on the student’s Chromebook, so make sure they bring them, have them charged, and bring their charger for the testing.  We will have water and snacks available during the testing and provide lunch on the two days of testing.  Remember that face masks are required at school and need to be worn at all times.

Most students have completed their different tests in about an hour, but we have scheduled two hours in our current testing schedule and will also on the 5th and 6th for each subject area.  While we believe that this should be more than enough time for you to complete the tests, if more time is needed we will make individual arrangements with you and your family.

We will be testing reading on the morning of the 5th for students in grades 9-11; language arts on the afternoon for students in grades 9-11; math on the morning of the 6th for all students in grades 9-11; and science in the afternoon for only students in grade 10.  Please note that only 10th graders take the science test and therefore most all students in grades 9 and 11 will be done by 11 a.m. on the 6th.

If you elect to not bring your child to school yourself, please review the following bus routes and plan accordingly to ride a school bus to and from school on April 5th and 6th.  If you have any questions regarding which bus you would ride, please contact Mrs. Richter at 712-366-8207.

Here are some resources to help your student prepare for the testing.
