Fine Arts

Students acting in the fall play Clue

The Fine Arts program of the Lewis Central Community Schools is an essential part of the education program, and offers a myriad of opportunities for all students. We provide for the needs of young people, giving students additional opportunities to acquire and develop skills, attitudes and appreciation according to their individual interests, needs and abilities. These classes and activities help the student develop into a responsible and effective member of the community through skill and character development, organization, teamwork, goal setting and leadership.

LC Summer Camps - designed for LC students, ran by LC coaches and sponsors

Hawkeye 10 Art Show

Each spring, the best and brightest of Lewis Central's art students are selected to attend the Hawkeye 10 Conference Art Show. Students apply by submitting their favorite artwork created during the last year and a panel of jurors select the creations they feel best displays the talents of our local youth. Hundreds of students from our conference travel to display their work and view the art made by the students from the other schools.  It is a great way for our students to not only see what other artists art doing and to get ideas for future projects, but also allows students several relaxed hours of critical viewing and analysis of art.
